Foreword
The Michigan Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE) has grants and scholarships available to aid undergraduate students pursuing engineering degrees. MSPE members, leading companies and educational institutions fund these scholarships.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a member of an MSPE Student Chapter, if available on campus, or a State member-at-large.
- Be a US Citizen and a resident of Michigan.
- Be in an ABET accredited engineering program at a Michigan college or university.
- Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Submit recommendations from at least two professors in the applicant's field of engineering study or appropriate math/ science professor. Must specify academic and personal traits and extracurricular activities. Absence of these recommenda- tions will disqualify the applicant.
- Demonstrate leadership and an interest in the engineering pro- fession through involvement in school and/or outside activities.
Instructions
Staple the following related documentation in this order to the back of the application:
- Official grade transcript(s)
- Recommendations from two professors
- Proof of acceptance in an ABET accredited engineering program
- Co-op program information. Provide any information relating to or comprising a program of combined studies in which you might be involved.
- Prepare a typewritten, two-page essay of approximately 500 words. Essay must discuss your interest in engineering, specific field of engineering that is being pursued, and occupation you propose to pursue after graduation.
Deadline
Deadline for submitting applications is the first week of April. Send completed MSPE scholarship applications to:
